FDC identified workplace hazards such as falls from heights before site activity commenced through thorough review of the drawings and implementing safety in design principals. FDC has made many design changes on the project to enable works to be carried out safely and efficiently. It should be noted that falls from heights has been the number one killer in the BCI consecutively for the last four years. These changes have resulted in the following benefits:
•ÌýÌý ÌýElimination of scaffold so far as reasonably practicable.
•ÌýÌý ÌýA reduction in the amount of materials handling onsite.
•ÌýÌý ÌýA reduction in formwork stripping.
•ÌýÌý ÌýIncorporation of a height safety system to allow safe cleaning and ongoing maintenance of the building façade on completion of the project throughout the buildings’ lifecycle.Ìý
