Grocon were awarded the contract on a design & construct basis and appointed the existing design consultants (through novated arrangements) to complete the design works.
The project is arguably the most sustainable, innovative and technically complex in the CBD office tower ever constructed in Australia. The building is unlike any other high rise office accommodation, incorporating such innovations as:
鈥⑻ 听Full height 130m atrium through the centre of the floor plate;
鈥⑻ 听Double skin ventilated fa莽ade to all the office areas;
鈥⑻ 听150,000L/day black water (sewer mining) treatment plant;
鈥⑻ 听Gas powered tri-generation system providing electrical power, heat for absorption chiller and heat for domestic hot water;
鈥⑻ 听Rooftop solar thermal tube array providing 鈥榮olar cooling鈥;
鈥⑻ 听6 Star Green Star design and As-Built environmental ratings;
鈥⑻ 听Designed, constructed and operated using full BIM model;
鈥⑻ 听Fully integrated extra low voltage BMS system;
鈥⑻ 听One of the largest 鈥淕reen Walls鈥 in the Southern Hemisphere.听
