This house, the contractor鈥檚 largest project to date, is three stories high set on a double waterfront block and took some 24 months to build. 听The contract involved the demolition of two existing houses, the excavation of close to 4000 square metres of rock, and the use of a site crane, which after the structure was built, was also used to service the stonemasons who undertook 1200 square metres of stone wall cladding. Material handling to foreshore works, beyond the crane鈥檚 reach, were accomplished via barge. The large two storey lifting window is a feature of the central staircase entry space. The staircase is three storeys high and the edges and risers are clad in Italian travertine to create a continuous solid tread block look.听 听According to the judges, the finishes, both internally and externally, are faultless. 听Great use of copper, zinc and stonework was incorporated throughout, with the stone masons being onsite for 12 months. 听An excellent job.
